As part of the Citizens Friends of Environment project, implemented by the Mozambican Recycling Association (AMOR), funded by the European Union, AMOR and its partner, Autonomous Sanitation Service of Beira (SASB), met on the 6th of this month, to activity adjustments.
The meeting that had as its agenda, the coordination of activities related to the cleaning of tertiary ditches, counted on the presence of the Project Manager, Alfredo Zunguze, Community Technician of the OCBs, Raimundo Maceu, both from AMOR and the Deputy Director of Sanitation, Manuel Cheia and his team.
Within the Citizens Friendly of the Environment project, AMOR has developed activities to collect solid waste and raise awareness of the sustainable use of drainage ditches, involving community-based organizations (OCBs) located in the neighbourhoods where the actions are developed.
In this sense, the entity responsible for urban sanitation, SASB, has been a strategic partner in monitoring drainage ditch cleaning activities and wants projects like these to be continuous, so that ditches always remain clean and that it is inclusive for all stakeholders in this process.
