Within the scope of the project “Citizens Friends of Environment” implemented by AMOR – Mozambican Recycling Association and financed by the European Union, AMOR developed a partnership with the CMB – Municipal Council of Beira, where together they have carried out various activities aimed at the sustainable development of the City.
In order to support activities related to solid waste management (garbage collection) in this city’s neighbourhoods, the “CMB Direct Line” was created, which is monitored by the Municipality Council of Beira Urban Management, from the telephone number +258 87 866 8145, where citizens have the opportunity to call and expose problems related to poor waste management in their neighbourhood.
In this sense, in May, AMOR was installed information displays in Seven (7) OCB’s – Community Based Organizations, namely: ADCS, AMACO, CERECIDE, OJOLISC, AJUCRE, ADEMO and OCEDESP.
Likewise, two identification structures for OCEDESP and ADEMO recycling bins were replaced, which allow people an easy location for the sale of recyclable waste.
