AMOR – Mozambican Recycling Association, participated in the First National Conference on Climate Change on June 9, at the invitation of the Provincial Environment Service in Sofala Province.
Under the motto “Mozambique for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development”, in the city of Beira, the meeting took place at the Golden Peacok Hotel, from 8:00h to 18:30h.
This motto reflects the government’s dream of building a nation where climate change is not a scourge to Mozambicans, said Ivete Maibaze, Minister of Land and Environment.
According to the Ministry of Land and Environment, in the country, Climate Change manifests itself through changes in temperature and precipitation patterns, the rise in sea level in terms of frequency and intensity, extreme weather events such as droughts, floods and tropical cyclones that affect different regions of the country every year.
