During the month of May the following activities were carried out:

  • Environment and Citizenship Project – students from the clubs of the 5 secondary schools in Maputo City covered by the project, namely: Josina Machel, Polana, Estrela Vermelha, Eduardo Mondlane and Francisco Manyanga had solid waste reuse sessions using (roll of toilet paper and papal) for the manufacture of pen holders.

 

  • Project of Selective Collection and Environmental Education – students from the environmental clubs of the 11 primary schools of the District of Nhlamankulo namely: Unidade 7, Mincadjuine, 21 de Outubro, 25 de Junho, Unidade 16, Amilcar Cabral, Unidade 13, Unidade 18, Unidade 19 and Comunitária de Chamanculo D, had internal cleaning sessions in their respective schools and neighborhoods.

 

  • In addition to the activities described above on May 29, a workshop was organized under AMOR’s organization to present the results of the CDM-GIZ Partnership Feasibility Study on Post-Consumption Glass Waste Management at the CDM facilities in Maputo where participants from Local Government, NGOs, Waste Operators, Waste Pickers and the Private Sector were present.
